Protect the National Endowment for the Arts / National Endowment for the Humanities
Updated On: Apr 20, 2019
For the third year in a row, President Trump has zeroed out the budget for the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities citing "no meaningful impact" as its reasoning.
I ask President Trump to tell that to the 4.3 million Americans those jobs rely upon the nonprofit arts sector remaining vibrant in every community throughout this country.
I ask President Trump to tell that to the businesses that rely upon arts patronage as a primary source of revenue.
I ask President Trump to tell that to the children who are becoming the artists of tomorrow through grants funded by the NEA and NEH.
The IATSE stands firm in its support of these national institutions, and we ask Congress to do the right thing and fully fund
the NEA and NEH. These critical investments are indeed meaningful and impact the lives of millions in every corner of this
nation, and we simply cannot stand by and allow the budget to be balanced on the back of working families and young
artists. The IATSE must make our voices heard, and I thank you for your activism.
